I am usually not a fan of green beans, but I love them when they are cooked like this. I had never had these until I moved here and now I make them all the time.
For our family this is the recipe I use, but when we have guests joining us for dinner I make 2-3 cans.
1 can of whole green beans
bacon
1/2 stick of butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 t.garlic salt
Cut bacon strips in 2, then wrap a handful of green bean in a piece of bacon.
Then melt 1/2 stick of butter and mix in 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of garlic salt.
Pour butter mixture over wrapped green beans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Then put on broil for 5 minutes.
This is what they look like before the butter mixture is poured on.
Deacon loves these too. I know they are not the healthy option for eating green beans, but hey they are still vegetables right?
